GEOSPATIAL VISUALIZATION
Choose the map your data needs.
Color regions, size symbols at locations, or connect places with flows. Match the geography and measure before choosing the design.

Choropleth map
Use it for regional rates, shares or densities. A raw total can be mapped when that is the intended question, but larger populations and areas can dominate comparisons.

Bubble map
Use it for store revenue, city population or quantities associated with sites. It is useful when the measure belongs to a point instead of an entire region.

Flow map
Use it for trade, migration or transfers between named places. Choose it when both movement and geographic position matter to the story.
Example and practical guide →Check the geography first
Region boundaries, coordinates and routes need different input fields. Review unmatched locations and missing values. Keep chart analysis in the chart workspace and map analysis in the map workspace.
